Ribbon Kyuri Salad with Asian Dressing & The Award!

First...
I want to say apologize if for the past 2 month (imagine that!) I didn't post any new recipe or blog post here. Lot of things happen that need more attention and been busy this days and yes I did take a time to travel to Singapore and Bali at our 12Anniversary :D , Will share the photos with you as soon as I can :)
So, reader and blogger... would you please forgive me for this late post?
I know you will ;)

And now, our love ones... the food of course :)

Don't you agree if I say that, nothing can compare a refreshing salad after a hectic day?!
Well, dessert is something that we often call as an indulgence after a long day. But salad, it's just something that I will always call as a "medicine" or a "detox" that will help our palate and senses to regain their memory back... And that is, truly something most precious for us, blogger, cooker and food enthusiasm - our palate and senses!

Japchae - Korean Sweet Stir Fried Noodle with Vegetables and Beef

Japchae is one of korean favorite traditional dishes, it's a sweet stir fry noodle with vegetables and beef. Japchae often serve as side dish on korean house, if japchae serve only with rice in a bowl then call japchae-bap.

Japchae first time serve at 17century when prince Gwanghae, the king of Joseon Dynasty held a big party at his palace. Because the king so pleased with the dish then he awarded his lieges (same as Lord), Yi Chung, by promoting him to the position of hojo panseo (same as secretary of treasury).
At that time japchae only made by vegetable and mushrooms, the kind of vegetables is depend on the seasonal vegetables at that time.
At early 20century japchae serve with dangmyeon, korean noodle which made by sweet potato.

Making japchae is quite easy but need special attention, vegetables, mushrooms and beef cooked separately to keep the flavor of each ingredients. Soy sauce, sesame oil and sugar give a savory and sweet flavor to the dish.  The authentic flavor of japchae is sweet stir fried noodle, but you can always adjust the taste with your preference ;)

Pho Bo - Vietnamese Beef Noodle Soup

The first time I tried Pho Bo when I was at Central Park. Honestly, I've never tried a typical Vietnamese food before. So when I look around quite a lot of foreign cuisine in peddling in the food court in Central Park, so my choice fell on a dealer who sells a variety of typical Vietnamese noodles.

Vietnamese cuisine can be categorized into 3 sections according to regions.
North Vietnam - has a more simple dishes and get a lot of influence from Chinese (Cantonese), with more use of soy sauce.
French influence can be seen in the region - South Vietnam , which has also received influences from India with curry spices.
Finally, Central Vietnam - which further demonstrate the influence of "pure" taste of Vietnam with a clearer, more seasoned & more colorful.
